A Sense of Place
Rooted in New England
Much of my work is shaped by this region. Its quality of light, layered seasons, coastal atmosphere, and the centuries of history written into its architecture and streets. Boston is home, and these surroundings are woven into how I see and work.
I cherish every cobblestone path on Beacon Hill, the golden canopy of October maples, ancient stone walls disappearing into the woods, cedar shingles worn silver by the sea, birch trees in winter standing white against a bare grey sky, and the quiet of a harbour wrapped in morning fog. This place has never stopped teaching me how to look.
But a portrait can happen anywhere. When I travel, and I travel often, I carry the same eye into every city, every culture, every face I encounter. There is something irreplaceable about photographing a person within the world that shaped them.
